Cleansing Covenant

This stole was created while I was looking out at the Pacific Ocean. The rhythmic ebb and flow of the waves mingled with the covenant of baptism in my mind. The water drops are made of blue batik fabric and the background is a white-on-white print that looks like swirling water. On each hand-sewn water droplet is a mother-of-pearl button. In considering the buttons, shellfish clean the water, removing detritus and impurities, much like being washed clean in baptism. $292.
